Gilbert has been in the HVAC industry since 1998 when he took an office job with the intention of beginning an apprenticeship. Discovering his aptitude for systems and administration, Gilbert focused on expanding his skills and industry knowledge until he had developed the confidence to start his own business.
Now at Somatic’s helm, Gilbert’s roles include overseeing strategic direction, supervising system design, building long-term relationships and partnerships through consulting projects, and acting as kryptonite to Patrick’s golf game at company tournaments. Gilbert’s goal is to serve clients through honesty, integrity and mutual respect across all of Somatic’s offerings with a focus on new construction projects.
Gilbert has a degree in Business Administration, a BCIT Power Engineer Certificate, LEED Green Associate, and is a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers).
Patrick Wu
Vice President
Patrick’s career began in 1998 with an apprenticeship under his uncle. Finding that he enjoyed the work, he went on to become a Journeyman Refrigeration Technician and earn his Electrical RE (refrigeration endorsement) ticket, Class A gas ticket. In addition to his technical qualifications, Patrick has obtained his PMP (Project Management Professional) and LEED AP O+M designations.
As Somatic’s Vice President, Patrick is usually in the office managing field operations, sales, and business development, but as his interest in snowboarding and travel indicate, he likes to get out once in a while. Whether he’s designing an HVAC system for a building with unique needs or identifying a problem and creating a customized solution, Patrick’s passion for top-quality workmanship and exceptional service is evident in the satisfaction of Somatic’s clients.
Patrick is a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers) and RSES (Refrigeration Service Engineers’ Society), and PMI (Project Management Institue).
